Changing Air Filter For 96 Es300

Does anyone know how to replace an air filter in a 96 ES300. I found:

1) 4 clips on the air filter housing to remove

2) hook to detach

3) hose coming from the back of the filter housing to remove

4) loosened a band that was securing the housing from the air intake assembling going to the engine

But, I could not remove the housing from the rest of the air intake assemble. Does anyone know how to do this? Any explanation would be most helpful.

Thank you,

Kohler50

Hi Kohler50:

Is ur 96 ES a MkI ES(projector headlights,3 double spoke alloys) OR MKII(5spokealloy)??

I have an end of 94 ES300 and I have placed a K&N replacement filter in!

If ur ES = MKI, u dont need to unscrew any screw or bolt to remove the filter. All u have to do is unclip those metal clips and use a bit of force to jiggggggggle the top cover of the filter housing off. It's not the easist filter to remove.
