Err3 Grrrrrrrr

I've had the car 6 weeks and had an ERR3 about 8 times. Each time it's up with the bonnet, off with the fusebox cover, out with the fuse, back in with the fuse etc. etc. AND I"VE JUST DROPPED THE LITTLE PLASTIC FUSE EXTRACTOR DOWN THE SIDE OF THE Battery AND IT'S DISAPPEARED. AAAAAGH!

excuse my ignorance, but what's an ERR3? :duh:

ERR3 is the normal operating mode of the CD player in my car. This means that everything is working as usual and all 6 discs are being held for safekeeping within the unit. To further ensure that the discs are not harmed in any way, they cannot be played or ejected. :D

The ERR3 happened to my Cd player last week.

I have been back to the dealer who say's that there is a fault on some players if ERR3 keeps appearing.

They can tell from the model number on the front of the player.

I have a new one coming under warranty.

You're one of the lucky ones where this happens b4 end of warranty. I got it about 2 months out of w. and Lexus Hatfield told me "....sorry mate thats a 350 quid repair :o ....send it away.....blahblahblah.......common fault...blahblahblah. I said " ..if you know about the fault why can't you repair it for me - its your faulty equipment after all. Lexus H:"Sorry you'll have to ring Lexus HQ. See if they will pay for it" Lexus HQ not interested, hence 350 quid put on flexible friend! :(

Surely we should be able to get them on 'fitness for purpose', especially if they know it's a common fault.
