Alloy Refurbishment Quote - Good Price?

That's a pretty expensive price, but Wicked Wheels come to you which can make it easier for you. As an example, THESE GUYS will do all four for £220

When i was getting quotes they range from £40 -£55 per wheel for 18 inch so i think you are being quoted over the top.

From infomation i read you really want to have them done at a good refurbisher and not one that turns up at your door.

I worked for Lexus and Toyota for 3 years,as you can understand we needed to refurb lots of wheels.We used to pay £55 including v.a.t each wheel.There are cheaper,but you need to ask how they will carry out the job,if they are not taken right down to the alloy(sand blasted or sanded)then the water gets back under and they will peel in a few years.

yeah they are gud, my rims are silver and flawless.

i used a company called "laptab" http://www.lap-tab.co.uk/ in birmingham coz its close 2 me as well. sure they charged something like £200 ttl that was for taking tryes out of wheels out n refitting and the refurb process and doing it in anthracite which was more expensive than plain silver.

we use them a lot, they cost £50 a wheel.. but do offer a same day service once a month where you drop the car in the morning and pick it up in the evening... but it is about £75+ a wheel for that

I can't really add anything new, but £95 per wheel does sound a bit steep, well, more vertical actually!

A place by me does them for £30 a wheel, but I suppose at that price the quality my not be as good.

£100 per corner does seem a lot though!! At that price I'd buy some aftermarket wheels instead, but not everyone's into modifying!

Got my '03 IS200 Sportcross last August, just put it in for service and mentioned that alloys were showing signs of corrosion. Service guy has sorted out with Lexus to replace all 4 wheels...amazed...£1k worth...maybe there is a god!

Metal Magic, a place local to me charges about £50 per wheel, and is well recommended by the car mags, and other clubs...

I have some done on my old Mazda, and they are superb..

taken back to bare metal and refurbed.. then painted and baked in an oven..
