My mate is looking to sell his 200S as he is going to Aus for a year and needs the cash.

It is a V plate 2000 with 70K miles, full LSH up to the last service, very good condition although it is suffering from the dreaded alloy wheel rot.

He is looking for about £11500 and he will also throw in the extended warranty direct he has taken out.

What do people think it is worth?

9700 sounds a bit low but I'm biased - I have a 2000 V IS200S too ;) , although I've only done 40k.

On the lexus web-site they have a few 2000 V IS200S's with 60-65k miles selling between 10,000 and 13,000.

I'd try for 12,000 but be happy with 11,000.

Even Lexus, BM and Merc second-hand prices are on the floor as new cars are not selling and someone said there is a war on. There are loads of pre-registered desirable cars out there at 30% plus discount.

The fact is that up to 50k miles a dealer will retail an IS or GS, otherwise it goes to the trade. Over 50k the value falls sharply.

On a similiar thread, what do people think the right price for an IS200 SE with front mesh grille, sat nav, rear boot spoiler in platinum ICE, absolutely immaculate with only 11750 miles on a 2000 X plate ?? any ideas

You can't really compare the Lexus approved prices with what you might get privately or trading it in, there will be a big difference.

Chris, how long did it take to sell? Looks like I'm heading off abroad with the new company for a while to live in the far east. Will break my heart to sell it but have no choice hence the question. I'm pitching it for 16K now and see what happens..

Oh well will have to wait and see, mine's in Auto Trader now but not much response as yet, seems that the economy and the damn war is effecting peoples confidence in spending on a decent motor.
