One day I will bore every silly with my tale of a three month fight with Tesco (MY insurance company) over there attempt to put £11000 worth of repairs on my brand new (7 week old) IS 200.

This was for a claim that was not my fault - responsibility was sorted within a week.

Tesco-

cheap? YES

*****? YES

use them again? NO CHANCE

I begrudgingly pay £998

Fully comp Business & Pleasure

Parked on the drive and has traker monitor fitted,

5 years no claims and that is protected that is with Zurich through a broker

I could have had it cheaper if I did not take no claims protection.

My problem is I am 26 the car is new and I live near to some car crime hot spots.

policy up in new year...be first policy for my is200 Sport 99

Quote from elephant.co.uk

25 years old

10 month policy

2 NCB (touching wood now  )

£250 voluntary excess & 50 compulsory

1 fault claim in last 3 years

£661

Directline quoted me £727 for 12 months which works out cheaper per month by £6. But I can afford to pay for the elephant in Jan plus I'll get another NCB 2 months earlier than Directline.

Got the quote off the net and was going to ring them but before i got around to it they rang up and offered another 5% off.

gobsmacked

Hope this happens to me!

10 month policy

The only problem with some of these NCD accelerators is that you have to go with the same company the next year because most other insurance companies will not accept it.

I argued that with Admiral (I'm currently on their 10 month policy) earlier this year as a friend ran into that trouble a couple of years ago.I made this point and I was assured that it would not be a problem and that proof of NCB they supply you with doesn't list the start and end date of the policy so another company would not know it was a accelerator policy.
