I have decided to add an Insurance section to the forums. So if you are in the UK please answer the following

insurance company

Insurers Telephone Number

Typical Premium FC or TPFT (please note)

Type of car

Not sure How I am gonna do this.. maybe in the review section.. but if you could submit the info to help other members find the right insurance company that would be a real help to others. I will then work on implementing this to the website.

if I can then gets some insurance deals then I will post these.

Cheers Guys and Gals

Hiya,

Through the Club we have an insurance company that specialises in Cherished cars and the kind of enthusiasts who join the owners Club.

They understand us 'fanatics' as the main man is also a car enthusiast. Therefore they are more interested in knowing that you are the kind of person they want to cover, not so bothered about you making modifications etc. to improve your car - they have the sensible view that rather than increasing the risk - you make the car more valuable to yourself and so are less likely to park in bad areas etc.

Because I bought the IS200 as an additional car rather than replacing another car.... I have zero NCD to apply to the car. Brand new IS200SE, parked on the drive, 0 NCD, 3 points for speeding (Ooops), £720 for myself and my boyfriend (30 yrs old) including business use.

I suggest that the admin of Team Lexus give Jason a call, tell them that Sammy of Honda-R recommends him.... I do rate this company, with other insurers I have shopped around every year - I feel more loyal to this company, they now insure 4 cars for me and I will be getting a quote for house insurance come renewal!

Company - Livingstones Insurance

Tel : 0800 018 6258 (Speak with Jason)

Alkali, if you're still looking for a quote, you could try the company I'm with.

Premier Insurance, Winsford

£1500 Fully Comp, Business Class Insurance

25 yrs old, 0 No claims bonus (always driven a company car), 0 pts on licence.

A pretty good deal, considering they'll take on extraordinary cases as a challenge. My best quote was around £2500 just for Social and Domestic. I'm sure you've heard the laughter often enough when trying to get a quote and then being put through to Mr. Tone.

  • 3 weeks later...

Eagle Star Direct,

Don't know the number see www.eaglestardirect.com,

£2452 Fully Comprehensive and £350 compulsory excess... not bad considering I'm 18.

A word of warning though: these people won't let you do any modifications (not even a small boot spoiler  ) no matter who you are

2000/X IS200 Sport

I cannot believe what you are all paying for insurance.......

I still think mine is pretty cheap at £700 when I have Zero no claims, 3 points on licence, 1 claim, parked on drive, brand new car (therefore if anything happens, brand new car to replace damaged one).... myself and boyfriend and business use.......

Business Class is always a killer. My policy above is based on 20k year total. Already done 10k since Jan. Luckily I know the chaps quite well and they can pull a few strings for me.

I agree, which is why I think my deal is a good one.......0 NCD elsewhere was getting me quotes more than double that one - and most were over £2k !!! I had to go for unlimited since I never know where I'll be based next..... but trust me - my broker is very understanding - since I now insure 3 cars with him, plus my boyfriend insures his....... I have the chap's personal mobile number!! lol
