Datsun 100A M reg - First car bought for £50, did 40,000 miles in 2 years and never touched the mechanics. Eventually the front subframe went and sold it for £50 again!

post-9773-1211530694.jpg

post-9773-1211531302.jpg

XR2 Y reg - Loved this car, took it to XR owners club events and uprated engine to 1700 and high lift cams etc. One of few cars I wished I still had.

post-9773-1211531270.jpg

Fiesta 1.1 Pop Plus Mk 3 G reg - My first brand new car, bought just as the MK3's came out. Ok but soon wanted more power!

post-9773-1211532421.jpg

XR3i D reg - In black looked fab but was awful to drive, thoses CVH engines were really that bad!

post-9773-1211531571.jpg

XR4x4 C Reg - In white with the 2.8i, did huge miles in this car, very comfortable and quick but eats up front prop shafts.

post-9773-1211531738.jpg

Volvo 264 - Just bought for Reg number which had my initials in 1988. Paid £300 then sold for £500 after transfer!

post-9773-1211531880.jpg

Passat MK3 1.6TD Estate K reg - Used as company car for 12 months. The company still uses it today and now done over 300,000 miles

Peugeot 106 1.5D P Reg - Actually liked this car, used to get 50 MPG easy and got thrashed everywhere

post-9773-1211532298.jpg

post-9773-1211532630.jpg

First Lexus! IS200 SE in Aztec Fire T reg - Bought brand new, Loved the colour and wished they still did it. Never missed a beat in 3 years and 40,000 miles.

post-9773-1211533450.jpg

IS200 SE 55 Reg - Bought brand new, one of the last made, had the Satnav etc for £19k. Remember i missed having an auto. Had to sell due to going round Australia for 6 months.

post-9773-1211533663.jpg

IS300 Sportcross again 51 Reg - Bought when came back from OZ for 11k. Then had a midlife crisis and had an affair with a firey Italian!

post-9773-1211533855.jpg

Alfa 147 TI 1.9D 06 Reg - Bought brand new. Went like stink and cornered on rails. But otherwise crap. Bits kept falling off and dealer was the worst ever. Never ever again!

post-9773-1211534034.jpg

IS250 SE MM Auto Massa Red 56 Reg - Brought brand new and the best car I have ever owned. No problems or rattles yet in 24,000 miles. Still got it and will keep for 3 years, to hopefully replace it with an ISF.

post-9773-1211534555.jpg

Mazda MX5 MK2 S reg - Got this just for summer and to have the odd track day at Oulton Park. I've fitted a supercharger and loads of chassis mods. A very entertaining car and always come home with a big grin on my face. I'll be keeping this for a long time to come yet.

post-9773-1211534743.jpg

RAV 4 52 Reg - Mainly used by the girlfriend and got it to drive to the south of france this summer with 2 kids and all the luggage. Its surprisingly good and can see why so many are sold. Looking to PX it next year for a brand new one.

The Lexus is the first boring (I mean sensible) car I've had. My list in order of ownership is:

Honda CRX

Honda Prelude

Nissan 200sx

Nissan 300ZX TT

Escort Cosworth

Honda Integra Type R

Nissan Skyline

Evo VI

Impreza STI

and finally a Honda NSX manual T-top

avi.jpgavi3.jpg

The Lexus is my sensible car after starting a family - I really like it but it can't compare with the driving experience of most of my previous cars (especially the NSX). Ahh well, having to move away from this kind of car was always going to happen, and it's nice to move to a car of the Lexus' quality to help ease the pain!

First car was a red Reanult 4 when I was a student at the university followed by a brownish Volvo 242 (I got it free from a relative) after graduation, then a white Alfa Romeo 75, used it for trackdriving mainly, then a green Alfa Romeo 164 but got tired of constant oil leaking so I decided I wanted a car that was above all reliable so I got a me a Green Lexus IS 200 followed by a Blue Lexus IS 300 SC, and now latest car is a pearlish blue Lexus IS 220d Sport.

Ok so here goes,

Very first car, identical colour to this one. Bought it in 1982, no licence but a dream. Only bought it because it had 2 electrical arials and Ultravox's Vienna sounded well hard init.

post-24018-1211892517.jpg

Bought this Talbot Horizon because it looked like a Golf GTI when you looked back in the wing mirrors. Not mine obviously as i cant find a pic. Dont think they had cameras in those days.

post-24018-1211892625.jpg

Living in Germany so bought this Cortina for £300 quid. Was in mint condition and a lovely car.

post-24018-1211892685.jpg

Bought this to replace the Cortina. Biggest bag of boll**x i have ever had the misfortune of owning. Bought it from new too.

post-24018-1211892754.jpg

Probably one of the nicest cars I have ever owned. Bought from new and loved every minute of owning it. People used to ask me what on earth it was.

post-24018-1211892809.jpg

Sold the Galant for a deposit on a house. Bought this second hand as a run around. Never let me down.

post-24018-1211892852.jpg

Vrrrrroooom First taste of German cars. Always wanted a Beeeema, so saved the pennys and bought one like this. Was in mint condition and at that time was my pride and joy.

post-24018-1211892931.jpg

Moved to Saudi Arabia for 3 years, so ended up owning 3 differenct cars, all free of charge, including insurance - none, petrol costs - none. Free to bash about in the sand dunes. Brilliant...

post-24018-1211893022.jpg

post-24018-1211893050.jpg

Loved living in the desert, so much so i got to teach desert driving and survival techniques. Was then asked to put this little chap through its paces in the dunes. Not a bad car but not too good off road. Nice engine though, V8 in such a small car making it very handy when "pottering" through the delights of Riyadh City.

post-24018-1211893086.jpg

Back to the UK with a bump and bought this from new. Overall a nice car, full leather package and pretty nippy.

post-24018-1211893363.jpg

Then wanted somthing a bit bigger, so bought Ghia X TDCI Mondy, brilliant engine and spec, useless Ford after service. Had an ongoing problem with the waste gate valve, always sounded as though the thing had a hole in the exhaust. Ford's answer? Stuff some toilet paper up inside to stop it touching the exhaust !!!..

post-24018-1211893470.jpg

10 Months down the line and i got shot of the thing, did a straight swap for this baby.

post-24018-1211893509.jpg

Loved the car.

In need to downsize so bought this from new.

post-24018-1211893589.jpg

Sold her eventually to start new business so got this little fella and its for sale if anyone is interested lol

post-24018-1211893669.jpg

And now have my latest pride and joy.

post-24018-1211893730.jpg

Love the thing.

Saving up the pennys for this little sweetheart. Had 2 test drives and vvvrrrrrrrooooommmm xoxoxox

post-24018-1211893879.jpg

And this little chap got me out of tonnes of scrapes....
