60k Service

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just got off the phone to the service dep. at lexus cardiff and the guy there quoted me around the £1,000 figure for a 60,000 mile service + timing belt + tensioner + idler pulley.

OMG! As if next years tax isn't enough to convince my wife to sell the car!

But seriously is this guy having a laugh? - £1,000 !!!!

Cheers

NOt sure how old your cars are, but it may well be worth considering having your waterpumps done whilst your having to cambelts replaced instead of having to pay the labour costs again when your waterpump does eventually go.

Darned good advice, ask Jason_l as his has started to weep a few months after he had the timing belt done .

Luckily I had mine done at the same time.....

As for £1,000 tell him to go poke, Lexus charge about £400 to do a timing belt on an IS200,

the rest of the service should be only £200-£250 IMO (unless something else major needs doing)

so I am thinking go elsewhere as fast as your legs will carry you.
