How Do I Tell If My Car Has Isofix For Child Seat?

i dont have the handbook for my car...

and have a baby on the way..

so what does the isofix mountings look like?

I dont know what they look like, but i'm sure the IS doesnt have any.

I'm confused.... child seats are just strapped in with the seat belt.... are they not?

yeah most can be, but some cars have clips i think that you attach the seat to as well

ISO Fix are socket type fixings behind the rear seat that are accessed though the space between the base and back of the seat. The child seat has "prongs" that engage in the sockets.

And as said above the IS200 does not have them.

Yes it does mine has them at least

you can tell by looking at the back seats they have a small button pictures of a child

It is on 03+ cars only and they have buttons on the backseat to indicate the position of the fixations

Mines a 52 plate and it has the little labels. Dunno if it has any fixing points cos with my ox of a son and my 12 yr old daughter (going on 24) I no longer need to worry

My 02 plate has them too, actually thought they all had them to be honest

If you're not sure, just feel through the gap between the backrest and the seat cushion on the back seats and if you can feel two metal brackets then you have the isofix mountings :)
