Speakers On Parcel Shelf

Recommended Posts

6x9

you may need mounts for the new ones

i bought these this that helps

6x9

you might need to change the wiring

it does depend on wether the car is an 'S' 'SE' or 'Sport' as to what speakers you need matey.

If the car is an S then pretty much any aftermarket 6x9's will do.

(click here to see how to make your own MDF Spacers, rear seat removal, 6x9 replacement etc)

If the car is an SE or Sport you will need OE Lexus Speakers as they are strange impedences and won't work with normall 4ohm 6x9's

Will be at the Ace Cafe tonight around 9pm if you are about that way fella....

If your car is just the S model you can do a simple direct swap over.

However if your car is an SE or Sport you have the 8 speaker system

(wires below the parcel shelf, and wires above the shelf under the speaker covers).

Then you cannot directly power new aftermarket speakers from the 4 wires you have running to the OE ones.

They would need powering from a new aftermarket Head Unit, or external aftermarket Amplifier.
