Speakers On Parcel Shelf

What sized are the speakers in the parcel shelf, i noticed on the way in to work yeaterday that one is blown!!

There is four speakers on the back shelf,

One inside the other on each side. and 6x9's do fit but you need to make a mount so they can be screwed in and so their lifted slightly to avoid the boot bars.

it does depend on wether the car is an 'S' 'SE' or 'Sport' as to what speakers you need matey.

If the car is an S then pretty much any aftermarket 6x9's will do.

If the car is an SE or Sport you will need OE Lexus Speakers as they are strange impedences and won't work with normall 4ohm 6x9's

How do you tell the difference between them ?? I can olny see a pair of wires going to each speaker !!

If your car is just the S model you can do a simple direct swap over.

However if your car is an SE or Sport you have the 8 speaker system

(wires below the parcel shelf, and wires above the shelf under the speaker covers).

Then you cannot directly power new aftermarket speakers from the 4 wires you have running to the OE ones.

They would need powering from a new aftermarket Head Unit, or external aftermarket Amplifier.

Right, i see i have an amp under the glovebox, so i've either the se or sport yeah ??

If so what replacements can i get ??

none without loads hassle, whats wrong with the speakers you have fitted ?

Well its the OEM one's, there gone very 'crackley' so i was looking to change them...

Easiest to straight swap them with ones from a breakers yard.

Otherwise you gotta get the multi meter out......
