Does anyone else have an oil leak from the rear of their engine? I have an oil leak from what appears to be around the rear crank area of my car which is incredibly annoying. Just wondered if any else has experienced this problem and if you were able to cure with stop leak, etc. Mine is definitely an engine oil leak (as opposed to PAS or gearbox leak) and is coming from the back of the engine.

Please help, it is making a mess on my drive!

Hi

Could be the cam covers, you don't see much oil from the top.... look here.. it is a two day job though....

You could get a garage to clean the mess off and see where it is coming from

As for stop leak, I used it ages ago on loads of old cars I had and it never ever worked so don't hold your breath....

Hi

I agree rear main seal, one of the points I checked when buying, get yourself a oil drip tray or cat litter tray & some cat litter, if its just started leaking it should be Ok for a long while yet (even years). just keep an eye on it & check your oil more often.

unless you feel the car is worth spending a few hundred to get it sorted.
