Changing Air & Pollen Filters

Recommended Posts

Hi

Bit of a car maintanence beginner.

Have seen filters advertised on eBay but am nervous about changing them myself.

Is it hard ?

Has anyone posted instructons on changing the air filter and pollen filter which you could direct me to?

Or can anyone gve me some instruction?

Many thanks.......

Its pretty simple,

For the pollen filter, open the glove box, squeeze the sides so it drops down and you'll see a bit of a handle behind that pulls a slot out, pull that (quite hard) and the pollen filter comes out. Replace it and job done.

For the air filter, open the bonnet, where the "L" symbol is there are two clips in front and behind. undo them and the filter lifts out.

Sounds reasonably simple, I'll give it a go.

May post back if I got stuck. :duh:

Many thanks

I recently did a walkthrough of how to change your spark plugs here. The first step of that is to remove the air filter, so you can see a picture in there. It's very very easy.

I personally would recommend a K&N air filter. It is reusable (you can clean it) so it pretty much lasts "forever". And it provides better air flow, which may well help your mpg slightly.
