Rear Sunblind Operatiion

Recommended Posts

Can someone tell me if the rear sun blind on a 57plate SEL is supposed to go back up automatically if you select park instead of driving away after having reversed?

Mine never has from new. When I reverse and then park (as you do) the blind stays down until I push the button again which I thought was a poor oversight

on Lexus part, however I now know their GS range with sunblinds do go back up if you select park. It does function normally in all other respects i (IE)

lowers when selecting reverse and raising again once I get up to about 9mph.

I think it should, but occassionally mine doesn't. I don't know the reason why but it must be a combination of what you do and the car can't remember where it was.

Thanks for the reply steve, would like abit more feedback before I ask the dealer to look at it.

mine never did.

it doesnt go up automaticaly once you reversed and choose park. It only goes up again only if you drive forward (more than 9mph) immediately after you reversed. If I reverse park the car and switch off the engine, it doesnt go up automaticaly the next time i drive the car forward.

sounds like this is the normal state of play then. It seems Lexus only got it got it half right on the I.S and spot on in the G.S.

Geoffers was messin about with this @ the Doncaster meet

Ooooer missus.

Back to the sunblind, on mine you have to move forward again for it to return, yet Treborlex's was slightly different if I remember. (Mines on a 56 plate). Rob can you remember how yours was?

I think it is a firmware issue rather than a fault as such.

Thanks for the replies. Bit disappointed, but still love my car despite the rattles.
