Cambelt Damage?

Im sure the is200 is a "safe engine". The valves clears the cyclinders, but this doesn't mean it will not damage other components in the engine in the process. Best be safe than sorry, change at 60k, not 100k (including idler, tensioner). Also worth checking the water pump is not leaking whilst changing the cam belt.

No its not, we had a thread like this a few weeks ago when Monster mat was sure of it but it was soon discovered it wasnt when the lad opened the engine up.
