Prolex Vs Pipercross

i have decided to get a induction kit but dont know which one pipercross or prolex ...hich is better...nd better for performance

don't know about the piper cross one but i know i like the prolex one

i have the pipercross but would go for the prolex one if i change it, as its a better piece of kit for an induction kit due to its routing, but i think the pipercross looks better :)

I don't have any personal experience with these, but if the Pipercross one actually heats up the induction air, because of its positioning, then it'll probably reduce bhp rather than increase it. Seems like the Prolex one would be better.

Theres always the Trust kit like Mr Mole had fitted to his? Not sure if he's sold it as it was for sale?

The Prolex one does seem to be well routed, not going over the exhaust manifold or the top of the engine.

Only way to go IMHO

heat rises so can't see point of the others........

where mine ends up as well is well away from the radiator another source of heat

Not a lot TBH. No one has ever done a before & after dyno.

I know of one bespoke kit fitted to Zee's IS which lost power (over exhaust type)

An article in one of the French tuners mag a few months ago did a side by side comparison on induction kits, they tested about 8 kits, with dyno results and the only kit to make a blind bit of difference on a Clio was the K&N replacement filter and something called a "Vortex induction kit". Both gave 2-4hp gain over the standard air filter, the rest gave no gain or a loss (I think one lost 6HP!!!). I think the Clio was pushing 160BHP at the time, so similar to the IS200.

But you can't tar all induction kits with the same brush, I am sure it would make a larger difference with forced induction.
