Ls400 1999 Eu Navigation Computer (with Cd)

Hello,

In my LS (1999 EU) there is navigation computer with CD reader (model 86841-50050) . I found on e-bay similar computer (different model coming from toyota avensis 08862-00840 -has DVD reader). This unit have the same connectors and I have an idea to replace my navigation computer with this from Avensis. Reason is - in Poland navigation maps are the only available on DVDs non CDs.

I think about two options - full replace navigation computer, option two - replace just CD with DVD reader. What do you think - it is a chance to work properly ?

Do you have wiring diagram for navigation computer connectors of LS400 1999 ?

Maybe some of you made similar modifications ?

You could try it but I doubt it would work. The DVD based sat navs were always intended for wide screen TFT displays, the MKIV LS400 had a 4:3 mini CRT.

James is right, it's been asked before on other Forums and the answer is it can't be done unless you swap the whole system from a later car.... a bit expensive.....

Just buy a tomtom.....

Can someone share wiring diagram with navigation computer ? I'd like to know what is on each wire comming to/from nav ecu located in trunk.
