One of the pre-cats has decided to fall to bits and apparently restrict flow (well, clog up the pipe so the car ain't driveable). Car's in the garage at the mo, will get looked at tomorrow. Question is, is it worth emptying the bits of catalyst out of the pipe and running it like that (effectively de-precatted or at least partially de-precatted) or should I get the pre-cat replaced?

There are lambda sensors before and after the pre-cat if that's any help (for any non-GS300 Mk.2 owners chipping in their knowledge).

I would probably opt for a sports cat and not a decat

Don't think you need the pre cats anyway would assume the other lambda monitors the precat. I'd just get the precats out hollow them out and refit them again or buy a straight pipe to have welded in.

Will be cheaper to just go non precat and your car will breathe a bit better too
