Problem Opening Cover To Fuel Tank Help !

Hi all,

Need some help I have a 99 Is200. Last year I had the spring for the fuel cap replaced and I was then able to open to cover to get to the fuel cap. The problem has now arisen again but ill be dammed if the car is gonna go into lexus again for this as they will want me to book it in two days in advanced just for them to look at this for me.

At the moment I have been getting round this by using my mobile for to hold the leaver up while I use the keys to flip open the hatch.

can any one tell me where to look as I have searched the forum and have found no answers as yet

next to the hinge there should be a little flat spring - its prob fallen out, either it wasnt installed properly or it became dislodged by clumsy handling at the pump.
