Here's one on eBay cheaper:

I definitely picked one up at the local supermarket - just can't remember if it was Tesco or Sainsburys as I go in both of them!

Thanks all, i shall pick one up tomorrow.

I have also bought one of these wee cables (HMV) and I cannot get it to work!

I see in the Lexus manual this function hardly merrits a mention. With a lot of car companys now advertising their i-pod conectivity as a big selling point why wouldn't we?

Either this bit of my car is broken or -hopefully- the cable is a dud.

I take it I'm not missing out on a programme to go into the MM or anything like that. Incidently, a girl in my work has just got a new VW Scirroco and is having the same bother. She has only tried it with my cable though. Her manual does go into it a bit more although I never had time to read it.

Any advice folks?

I assume that you have pressed the AUX button? I also found I needed to turn the volume up on the i phone as well as on the audio system itself.

The only problem with this iPod connection is that you can't charge your iPod while listening to it. If you do, you will get some horrible static noise in the background. This is really annoying!

The proper iPod connection is an aftermarket add on from Lexus or another supplier. The Lexus connection is about £250 inc fitting.
