Are Trim Panel Plugs Universal?

Just wondered if the trim panel plugs are universal? The ones that look like something most birds buy at Ann Summers

I want to buy a few for mine as noticed a load are missing - do I have to look up the individual part numbers on the EPC or can I just ring Toyota and say "I would like x amount of trim panel plugs please"?

Halfords also do them but they look like they would be a nightmare to get out:

yeah those ones in your link are a pain to get back out again. There are a few different types of trim plugs depending on the application but they are common across all Toyota vehicles. If you can show your dealer an example they should have them in stock.

Most of them are designed to only be used once, this is why things start to rattle/creak after you take something apart.

Fantastic cheers mate, I can see Lexus / Toyota are going to love me tomorrow as I'm going to be walking in with a shopping list of part numbers :D

This is my favourite:

It's the screw that goes into the steering wheel cowl - it's been rattling ever since I had the car and have now tracked down the part number

I hope it fixes it. Are you sure it's not the two pieces of plastic rubbing together? Mine did this, ended up gluing two together in a few places (small amounts so the two parts could be separated again if required). Interior rattles was one of the worse things about the series II GS.

I think it just needs that screw mate, not sure but I know whenever I hold that bottom part up slightly it stops dead - it's pretty much the only rattle I've got to be honest, just need to replace the subwoofer and tighten up the front passenger door and should be all silent again (touches wood!!)
