Welcome to LOC fella :)

What spec is your car currently or is it still standard?

If it's standard you're not really going to gain much by getting a puggyback ECU on an IS200 to be honest

I don't know if they're still about but a common one used on a few NA IS200's was the Dastek Unichip with the 3D mapping module addition :)

They cost quite a few hundred quid before mapping but think you gain less than 10bhp - think it was around the 5-7 mark?

Saying that though the car does run a bit rich so you could flatten the power delivery out I guess?

You could always try a Camcon, which lets you alter the way that the VVTi works, but from reports on here (I've not tried one myself) it doesn't make a big difference and is quite expensive.

You could try installing some IK20 spark plugs which are supposedly a bit higher performance than the OEM plugs, but again don't expect much of a difference. I would suggest a K&N filter but you've already got an induction kit.

  • 2 weeks later...

i spoke to a guy that rally preps cars and he said if its for performance ie 0-60 or 0-100 the camcon no good because even if you alter when the cam changes to say 2000rpm if your doin 0-100 it may work in first gear but when you hit 6000rpm and change gear it only comes back down to 4500 where it is as standard so it only used once from a standing start.
