Headlight Misting

Think it would only fail if it's that bad it's distorting the beam pattern?

Does it clear up if you leave the lights on? If so just leave your lights on before taking it to the centre!

Think I read somewhere on here that someone temporarily cleared it using a hairdryer blowing into it while the bulb was removed - that may be an option just to get it through before you fix it longer term?

if it continues stick some silica packs in the headlights. tape them to the rear inner cover.. this "should" help if not get rid of the problem.

obviously dont tare the pack & tape it around the sides not covering the centre

Ahh, sounds like a plan. Do you mean actually tape it inside the headlight, so i would have to split the headlight, or is their some other way.

If you haven't already done it, check that your bulb holders are fully inserted, i.e. that they're twisted right round till they "click". Your profile indicates you've changed the headlamp bulbs, so it's possible they're not fully sealed now.

Think you may be right Stevie, it wasn't misted til i changed the HID's and sidelights.

I'll check it out after work.

Im not sure what the covers look like on the IS but they'd just need taping to the inners of the rear cover. the cover being the one that you remove to change a headlight bulb, so not actually inside the front housing.

sounds like its the HID's install causing the problem.. if they are secure give the silica a try
