When Is A Lexus Not A Lexus

I have been contacted by other LOC members about my description of my car for sale - I'm no petrolhead and therefore would appreciate any comments - there has been some debate over whether it has a BEAMS engine - under the bonnet it has BEAMS 2000 - is this not a BEAMS engine? It's A Toyota Altezza import - very confused.

2 types of Altezza mate, As and Rs the As is the one you have, it saying beams on the airbox, but its the same 6cylinder engine as the is200, the RS altezza has the 4cylinder engine with aprx 200bhp.

And the is200 has 1/2 leather, sunroof.

Saw your car was causing a commotion the other day on here!

It's not really your fault on the Beams side - it's the way Toyota marketed it.

The RS200 with the 3S-GE engine had a Yamaha designed BEAMS Dual-VVTI setup whereas the AS200 had the 1G-FE which just has standard Toyota VVTI - and yet they still put BEAMS 2000 on the engine cover.

Think they did it to intentionally confuse people sometimes!

They were both 2 litre engines! The AS200 was the smoother and least powerful out of the two, whereas the RS200 is more like a Honda engine in that it's a lot more free revving.
