Installing Non Factory Stereo

Recommended Posts

Can any one help?

I have removed a non standard stereo from my year 2000 is200 sport . It was wired by some numpty and didnt work properly. I cannot get a connector from Lexus to wire up the new Kenwood because they dont do them. Has any one else had this trouble?. I have found a web site connects2.com that have a lead for £30.

The lead they have is 'CT51-LX01 Active stereo adapter. Does this work? or can any tips be given to save £30? I have the double din plug from the stereo but cant connect to the white Lexus plug.

It driving me mad

you need an amp by pass lead like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lexus-is200-se-sport...%3A1|240%3A1318

So if the one you can get is only £30 then get that one.

basically there is an amp on the standard stereo behind the glove box. so you need to bypass this to get standard speaker wires for an ISO connection.

If you look through the audio section this has been covered a LOT of times though so all your questions should be answered.

Welcome.
