Seems good value for the money and they're a nice colour the LE to boot :)

You prob will need to get the cambelt done though as it'll be coming up to 6 years old soon but apart from that sounds good :)

It could just be the type of milage that the shocks have seen over the years.

Higher milage cars tend to have been driven up and down the motorway most of their lives, whereas cars of the small age with a small milage tend to have been pottered up and down smaller roads.

Could just be the roads it was used on were bad - potholes, bumpy, speed bumps and so on can all cause issues.

Probably a good thing they've been replaced - maybe they just started leaking due to age?

As for the cambelt it depends how mechanical you are. There's a guide on here of how to do it but there is a fair bit to dissaemble - personally I wouldn't dare try it!

I think so - it used to be the 100K service but they revised it to 60K / 6 years I believe from what I've seen on here.

Usually do mine at 50 or 60k, in fact this one is having it's second cam belt in just over two years next week!

If you're feeling brave you can get the belt for about 30 quid I think - saw a post on here of Stav's saying that he paid £200 at Charlesworth but that is probably too far away from you to be economical!
