Ls400 Sat Nav Upgrade ?

Recommended Posts

OK I have searched the forums with no real luck so forgive me if this has been asked many times.

What is the latest version Sat Nav upgrade CD ( Not DVD) that will work in a 1998 ls400 series 4 ?

Mine has never been updated, and wont according to the previous owner, even recognise Wales or Scotland?

If I can update it rather than stick my Tomtom onto the screen it would be great !

Many thanks

Mark.

Hi, it won't be better than a new tomtom, any other etc.. Lexus stopped producing CDs in 1999-2000. All DVDs from then on. As you can imagine, technology has mightily improved over the past 9 years.

Thanks Graham

What a pity the LS400 wasn't future proofed, but then again I guess if it was nobody would want a new one !

Is the CD advertised at .toyotalexusspecialists as a 2007/08 not so ?

I got a 2007/2008 cd from www.Cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk about 3 months ago. Cost £109. Much better than the old one which I think was the original, but still has the limitations of being a cd system. Still at least I can drive on the M6 toll now without the sat nav thinking i'm in a field.

For UK door to door how would you rate it ?

My '98 LS400 had the original CD.

I got the latest available in 2006 from Lexus Newcastle and it cost me £161, but I'm not sure what the version number was.

When you load the disc it takes a while because it upgrades the application software as well as the maps. Be patient.

I think one of the updates is house numbers, which you couldn't enter on the previous version.

Maps are good, and the whole of UK is covered, but the York by-pass is not. You'll be back in that field.

I've no complaints. Well worth the money to me.
