Hi Everyone,

I've just bought my first Lexus Ls 400 mark 3,and i'm pleased as punch,i'm like a kid in sweet shop,it's done 164000 miles with a full lexus service history and all the appropriate cambelt changes, all the electrics work except for the light on the Radio,

so i'll have a look on the forum for a fix.

Just wonder if any of you guys & gals can give me any 'what to keep an eye out for ?' on these cars. ;)

Congrats on the excellent wisdom of your purchase. I have had my Mark 3 for approaching five years and I still love it to bits.

Do you mean the radio display or backlighting has gone (or both) ? Mine was both, so I sent it to Autosound in Bradford. They are the people who Lexus use.

Front suspension clonks are also likely to need attention at some point - maybe you are lucky and yours has already been done? Bonnet struts may be too weedy to support bonnet.

On a properly serviced car, engine/gearbox/exhaust probs are satisfyingly rare. For example, I no longer keep engine oil in the garage - never needed to top it up. In fact, I checked level yesterday and oil is still clean, seven months after the service. Not bad for a 125,000 mile motor.

You won't find many cars better made than an LS; enjoy your wafting !

Cheers jellybean,

I definately feel special in this car.

The bonnet struts are dead, and the radios backlight has gone, the radio itself is fine,

the suspension fells smooth with no crashes or bangs, and there is a very very slight blow

at the bottom of the front pipe you need to listen carefully to hear it and only on tick over,

i'll get that checked at kwik fit.

Other than that everything is great !.

Kwi-Fit are the last place I'd use, you would be much better taking it to a trusted garage.

Where abouts in Bristol are you? Reason I ask is I know of a very good, trusted garage in Chipping Sodbury.

Congratulations on your LS btw.
