Does anyone know if there is a fix for the b post seat belt area rattle/creak?

My dealer has had three goes suposedly to fix mine, the first 2 times they "added padding" both times to no effect. The latest time involved fitting a new trim and seat belt top link.It is now worse than ever. The dealers seem to think they have found the problem, change something and then hand the car back regardless if it has actually cured the problem complained about in the first place.

Has anyone actually identified what is causing this creak? Mine only does it when I am going over a rough bit of road and it is so annoying, given the state of the roads it is creaking most of the time.

The last two loan cars were 58 reg, one with only 150 miles on the clock, and neither of them had this noise.

Both cars also seemed quieter than mine so there must have been some changes to suspension ect. When I got to work I checked the tyres of the loan car because it was definately smoother and quieter road noise than my car and was suprised to see they were Dunlop sport max the same as mine

Can confirm my July 2008 build IS 250 is smoother & quieter than my October 2005 model which is due I believe to 2 key factors.

a) the car was built by the Full Time Lexus Associates as Lexus laid-off their 800 Contract Workers in April 2008 &

B) the new build benefits from the design changes executed to resolve the early "niggles" the marque could potentially suffer inclusive of allegedly soft paint.

Unfortunately my delear does the same. Changes something, tells me it is fixed, and 5 min down the road the rattles are still there if not worse. Rattles are one of the worse problems dealers have since it is very difficult to find the root of the problem. As an example, I told them my air vent was rattling, so they wedged a piece of very thin plastic in the gap between the air vent and the dashboard to make sure it doesn't move. This is not a fix, it is just a cheap hack demonstrating that they have no clue what could be wrong. Needless to say the rattle wasn't fixed, but I honestly can't be bothered going back and forth anymore.

the only fix i have found is to turn the radio up

 Yep that is the best solution I've found too...

is july08 when ur car was registered? or built? and if u say built..how do u know? coz im thinkin of getting a newer one to mine which is currently a 56 plate. I know they had a mid "facelift" when they changed the backs of the seats to the softer pocket, which lights on the kick plates, the fuelcap/boot lid button side by side etc etc..

My Dealer gave me all the Delivery Labels & the car was actually built on the 13th/14th of July & arrived in the UK @ the end of August 2008-----there are numerous modifications e.g.according to the US forum, the steering- rack gearing was "tightened" late 2007 etcetera. All I know is my new ride is definitley more refined than previous &, like Tango, & many others I had no issues with the earlier version.
