Recommended Posts

How do all,

Was on my way down to my gf's this evening and for some reason everytime i put my foot on the throttle pedal rev's built up but the car had 0 power and 0 pull, it was better in lower gears but trucks were pulling away from me :(

Got a funny feeling my clutch has gone, anyone have any other thoughts?

Dan

the blueprint clutch (oem) will be fine on a 200 without a charger you can get any garage to get blueprint from there suppliers or if you are doing the job yourself you could check your local motor factor for these parts most will supply you blueprint parts always shop around for the best price

Rig Pig, that is pretty much exactly what I said on facebook! Yeh can recommend blue print for good value oem spec replacement. Though if you do have ure sights set on a charger/turbo kit, then maybe wise to get the uprated one now, if ya can afford it.

OEM is actually Toyota only - Blueprint and the like are OEQ which is original equipment quality - had never heard that til the other week when I saw a box with it printed on!

Saying that the Blueprint clutch I had looked to be a better spec than the OEM one that came out :)

Blueprint are good quality stuff. When I changed my clutch I got it from Toyota, its a job I only ever want to do once. Maybe I paid over the odds going to the dealer but I know that the part is up to the job.

Buying a no name part of someone you have never head of on eBay is a true false economy.

Just had a quote £408 for part and labour :(

The clutch has completely gone now so I have no drive which means the garage are going to have to tow it.

Sorry to hear that mate. I wonder if it's worth getting a breakdown of how much of that £408 is the new clutch and how much is labour, to help you in shopping around ?

Well the car is now going to a clutch specialist who are charging £280 for part and labour so much more like it.

However the story has got a hell of a lot worse which could be leading to the farewell of the lex :( will open a new thread a little later with pics titled "Bad Luck part 4 - This could be the end"
