CAR: IS200 Sport 110k

i know its the quickest car!, but ive noticed power loss and i can just about beat grannies in fiesta's!

it has been serviced not that long ago, oil, filter etc but im not happy with the performance anymore

what could be the reason for the loss? really weak pushing upto 70-80 and on wards..tire pressure is fine.

1st gear i can just get to 10-15mph..

could the timming belt be out?? it was changed at 60k

any help would be gud

Paz

At a guess maybe your clutch is on the way out - you should be able to get to the mid 50s in 2nd gear so test that out. If not could be the clutch slipping.

Probably worth you trying to reset your ECU - just open the fusebox in the engine bay near the Battery and remove the EFI and ETCS fuses for a minute, then go and give it a thrashing and see if that is any different? Mine once bogged down and that sorted it.

Probably getting that checked out sooner rather than later mate, otherwise it could damage your flywheel!

Try the ECU reset anyway but if the clutch is on the way out it's definitely worth changing it out as that'll be the problem :)

I had a lack of power once in a crappy old corsa..the more i drove it the slower it got!! Turned out that the CAT had got blocked hence why it limped slower and slower. Got a new CAT from the scrappys and well i wouldnt say happy days but it was running as it should have lol!!

Do the revs climb matey when you put your foot down but the speed stays low?

ref upto 4rpm and doesnt wanna push any further :crybaby:

up to 4k?

no wonder its not the quickest of cars nothing really happens below 4k take her to 5 or so then see how well it pulls

....I reckon some kids have shoved a tennis ball up its tail pipe....

sounds like a breathing problem....if it doesn't rev freely at a standstill give the throttle body a clean and blow the breathers through. Got to be worth a go
