Dome Light Leds

Recommended Posts

they are quite pants to be honest mate i tried both of them, in the roof they are as useful as a chocolate teapot! although i do have the 9 LED types in the sunvisor lights in blue that light up well. but in both the roof lights i have managed to get a set of 36 leds on one board that came with 3 different light fittings these give off such a better amount of light but thte site i got them from dont seem to have them no more bt they could easily be made up in about half hour you just need a pcb board that is no bigger than i think 1.5-2 inches but just check for clearance just incase.

hope this helps mate sorry i couldn't find any pre made ones for you

yeah they be the ones they will give off soooo much more better light coverage. In the center dome light i think i had to bend one of the metal internal bits to get it in but they do fit perfectly well with the LED's just touching the plastic cover, so it then bends the light for better coverage as well mate, go for these you will not be dissapointed at all :)

those 36 LED types are perfect mate honestly you will not get any bigger than that in it, and any less than the light will be compramised, they will fit just tuck all the wires behind the board place the pcb with the lights on the plastic dome cover so that you can see its in the centre and aligned properly and place it on the roof its perfect job done.

go for it stevie honest mate you will not be dissapointed at all

ok, so I got one of the 36-LED versions and just installed it. Here are the before (OEM) and after (36 LEDs) pics :

The LED light is *much* brighter than the OEM light, which doesn't really come across in the photos - my camera used a much faster shutter speed for the second photo. What you can see is how much whiter the light is from the LEDs. Very happy with it, took about 1 minute to install it, plenty of room in the light fitting for it.

Thanks to Stav and Dino for your help :D

Might have to get one of these, where did you get it from? I've got a similar thing but with 12 LEDs, and it's a lot brighter than the standard bulb so this should be even brighter!

I found that the SMD (1st picture 1st post) are more powerful. You can get multi SMD led's on fleabay, but essentially for better light output you could always smooth out the cover with wet & dry or dremel. I used to have a link somewhere which sells SMD's for like.. £2-3 posted on eBay, i'll try dig that up later.
