I have just bought a 97 LS400 and am really pleased so far! I hope to tow and have found a tow bar inc electrics for £271.62, but am stumped with the autobox oil cooler. Lexus want £461.89 plus vat and fitting.

I will be towing a very small 2 berth caravan at 60 mph about 200 miles each way on the motorway in the UK. Do I really need an oil cooler and if so does anyone know a more cost effective place to buy one? Is the tow bar good value as it includes twin electric pack, ball etc?

Thanks and this is my first question. Have really enjoyed reading some of the excellent answers.

Kindest regards in anticipation!

Hi,

Welcome to the LOC.

According to the handbook the only times you may have a problem with overheating is when climbing hills over a long period of time in temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.

So no problems with that in the UK then!

Lexus quoted me 1 hour for the fitting of the oil cooler! Not tow equipe but I did a little bit of haggling with the manufacturer!

Many thanks for your kind help.
