New Sound System....

im thinking of upgrading my lexus is200 se sound system, reading around it seams like its going to cost ££££ to upgrade.

all i want to do is

instal this to replace the original head unit

Changing the headunit isnt too hard - especially if you know how to use a voltmeter. I chopped all my cables but kept the old plugs, some people buy harnesses...

The thing with chopping the cables is that i had to manually find which were the speakers again - so instead of using the inbuilt amp i've just gone directly from the headunit to the speakers in terms of connectivity, i believe it sounds much clearer this way.

I've only changed the rear speakers to the infinity reference 6x9's, and added a kicker solabarick 12" sub and a kenwood amp. You'd be surprised how well it sounds - you dont need any more unless you dont like your eardrums!

So, either get a harness - which is easy to wire up, or if your confident chop and use a voltmeter - easy as pie!

On the SE model you have mate you'll need an amp bypass cable and new facia to start so that you can fit the headunit? something like THIS KIT On eBay, :)
