Lexus Is Test Drive This Saturday

Hi,

I am looking to buy a manual or auto IS250 SE, my budget will strecth to around £13,000 this should get me a 55/06 plate car. I have a couple of questions:

- What issues should I look out for on the early cars

- Do any of you have experience of extended warrenties?, do Lexus GB offer these?

If anyone has or knows of a decent IS250 SE that is for sale around the £13,000 mark drop me a PM

on the manual the bite point on the clutch is very high and after a while this makes your shins ache,listen for a rattle on cold start of the engine,check that air con does'nt give of musty smells when first turned on,check for squeeks in the cabin from dash etc,check that the leather seats hav'nt suffered any wear on the side bolsters through getting in and out,check wheels for corrosion,get a print out of all warranty work carried out.i am sure that are a few other things which i can't think of right now.

I think you'll be able to get a car from a Lexus dealer with that budget, and they come with a 12 month warranty. When I was at the dealers recently they had an IS250 SE-L auto for £12.5k on a '55' plate.........

Thanks for the feedback, been looking on the Lexus site and Autotrader, seems there are a few cars out there. Will let you know how I get on.
