Hello Everyone

My brother has just purchased one of these motors and we have just picked it up from London. It has a few problems and I was wondering if anybody can guide me about repairing these problems. I'm a mechanic with 25 years experience so most jobs are within my capabilities . I also have a Carman Scan with Jap/Korean software so diagnosis should be okay-I run the Hyundai Owners Club as I usually specialize in these.

Now for the car- Apparently it was taken off the road last year due to overheating although the RAC were called out to it and tested it for head problems and it proved negative-alledgedly!!. Are there any common problems what I should look out for. There seems to be a sight detonation knock when its hot and you rev it but I am not sure if it is because it has 95 ron petrol in it-brothers fault. Started first time(4-5 secs) after a year of standing.

Are the head gaskets difficult and where is the best place for spares.

Other faults- LCD display/Oil Level Sensor/ Boot lamp missing/Wing Indicator missing.

I am just trying to get an idea of the job involved before I start to repair it. Many thanks in advance

Sorry , but I cannot sponsor Steve The Admin as I have to prepare the Unprofessionals for the same rally :tomato:
