Looking For The Radio Amplifier On 2000w Ls400

Recommended Posts

Hello

My Lexus is one of the last LS400 registered July 2000 "W" reg.

I have lost all volume on the radio/CD/Tape player. The sound from the touch screen Sat Nav is unaffected and still works 100%.

I have checked all fuses in fuse boxes under the bonnet and by drivers right foot.

Could the issue be with the amp? Is it seperately fused? Where can I find the fuse and the amp itself?

Thanks for your help and advice. I look forward to sound again soon.

Have you disconnected the negative from the Battery recently ?

According to the workshop manual this will render the audio system inoperative and requires you to input a code to get it running again ..Just a thought ?

There are just two fuses listed for the radio system and both are in the block on the drivers side, cant see anything regarding the amp ?

Thank you for your advice. It is appreciated.

I can only fine ONE fuse for the radio in the fuse box by the drivers right foot.

I haven't disconnected the Battery. I did have the carphone cradle removed, though.

I was suspecting it may be that the system which mutes the radio when the phone cuts in has shorted somewhere or blown something resulting in the radio being muted. The radio/CD display still works and shows the stations etc. There is just no sound from the speakers.

The sat nav is working fine both visually and audibly through the speakers.

Lexus want to send away my Radio/SatNav for diagnosis. I am not sure that is necessary as the fault might be in the car, not the unit.

What do you reckon?

Thanks for all advice.

Brad
