Possible Corrosion Issue

I replaced the oil and filter yesterday myself and whilst the bottom splash guard was off had a look around and discovered 2 metal pipes with hoses positioned more or less under the PS pump area but at chassis level ( I know should have took a picture) which could be transmission cooler pipes/PS pipes ( not sure as they disappeared into the engine compartment).

Anyway one was quite rusty so I cleaned it and sprayed some waxoil on it.

Worth a look while you are under there to prevent possible future problems.

Seems strange really as most of the metal piping around the engine compartment is stainless steel or chrome steel.
