Ipod Lead?

I have an 08 IS220D, when I bought it I was told by the dealer that it was IPOD ready. There is an AUX port thing in the arm rest which I think is for the IPOD, so I phoned the dealer today looking for the lead to connect the IPOD, and they told me the lead would cost €240, can that be right? he said that the head unit needed to come out to fit the lead, can that be right too? It all seems a bit much when I was told it was IPOD ready...

sounds a bit odd, why have an aux port if it dosnt work. sounds like the dealer priced up what you already have!!!

why not take it in to the dealer and speak to them in person,im sure someone on here would be able to help you more. :)

Sound like the dealer wants to fit the ipod integration kit, this allows you to control your ipod using the stereo controls, charges it up whilst driving and is placed in the glovebox....

You need a 3.5mm stereo lead, one end plugs into aux point in armrest other end plug into headphone socket and away you go... Got mine from Maplin (think it was around £3.50) or you could try eBay or any audio electrical place....

Works a treat for me although on a long journey your ipod may need charged up, only downside is that you switch off the car and forget to turn off your ipod and come back to a lifeless Ipod..

Hi

i just bought this Ipod Charger & Aux Inputa few days ago from halforda and it is fantastic! it pauses the ipod when you turn the engine off and charges it on the go. it also ups the volume level so you don't have to crank the stereo all the way up either and best of all it fits in the 12v socket in the arm rest without stopping it from closing. i basically just take the ipod out when i start the car and rest it on the console with some non slip matting and then close the arm rest and that way i can control the tunes etc but the cables etc are all hidden in the arm rest.

it's a lot cheaper option than the intergration kit anyway and you don't have to worry about the ipod running flat :)
