Spray Paint Wood

I hate painting doors with a brush, and just wondered whether you can use spray paint? Would you need a special primer, or would a normal wood primer suffice?

Also are there any other potential problems with the finish compared to painting it normally?

dont think should be a problem normal wood primer would do it, if you watch any shopping channel these days, there sell sprayers for fences, doors basically everything, so dont think its a problem

You can spray them mate, but is a bit messy unless you take them off? you could always use a samll gloss roller? makes it quite easy and a lot better than a brush :) All depends on the paint mate and most spray paints will probably soak into the wood?

Well they have paints at B&Q and Homebase that are suitable for spraying wood, so hope they'd work.........always tend to take doors off to paint them anyway, saves having to do too much prep and worrying about paint spills - also avoids the paint smell lingering too long.

Rollers work well in terms of getting an even finish, but has the same issue of cleaning the rollers that I'm trying to avoid :)
