Locking The Glove Box!

Recommended Posts

Occured to me today in fact that it's lockable - some cars don't have this feature! Is there any point? Do you lock your glovebox?

I know it's a bit of a lame query!

Just wondering.... or it's better to store valuables in the boot..........

it only locks with the master key iirc, so that if you take your car in for a service etc you can hand over the spare 2 button key which wont open the glovebox? And iirc the same works for the boot, lock the boot with the 3 button key using the boot lock and it disables the opening handle inside the car and cant be opened with the 2 button keys :)

Can't say I've ever locked mine, and I'd imagine it's not particularly difficult to break the lock on the glovebox anyway - best it's left open and they take whatever's in it than get frustrated and smash the car up instead..........

Tend not to keep any sort of valuables in the car, and on the odd occasion probably better to put it in the boot.

Locked a previous glove box up and some a** just wrecked it with a screwdriver :(

If someone wants in they can break it pretty easily. Best to not leave anything valueable in there and unlocked in my opinion.

i pretty sure that if you pull the 2 plastic pins out from under the glove box you can wiggle it out from the locked position dont hold me to it but sure, when i was doing some work on the car i removed the 2 pins and it fell out mine is usually locked will check when i get home though lol
