Picked Up The Lexus And Problems :/

picked up the is200 earlier today and after the 200 mile drive home noticed something. it begins to shake over 80mph. very very annoying problem. its mainly the dash and steering wheel.

i was thinking it could possibly be an engine mount gone??

that is a good call actually as the guy said it has just had new tyres. i shall check them at work on monday

get the wheels rebalanced 1st

youve got a Lex mate..it aint the engine mount.... :winky:

the only engine mount that has gone on me was a 78 Chrysler alpine..started it one morning and there was a big (very big) clunk ...engine mount had gone and said engine was being propped up by the tarmac....

as doog says it wont be the engine mount. well very unlikely

Wheel balance problems quite often happen at about 80mph I've found, it sounds like that's the problem.

If it happens at 80 you'll often get something around 40 too

cheers for the replys guys. i should have known about wheel balancing really, i do fit tyres after all lol.

shall get them on the machine tomorrow and see what they read.

I have the same problem too. After getting my wheels balanced no change! I suspect lower ball joint or steering rack housing/bushes.
