Newspaper Really Good For Cleaning/polishing Windows?

What's the science behind this? Sounds silly because if you read a newspaper your hands are black afterwards and anything you touch leaves a black smudge!

newspaper printing ink is kerosene based i think - kerosene is a very good cleaner!!

also, the paper itself is pretty absorbent so helps mop up the water a bit...

Always used to use newspaper when i was a butcher, worked great and still use it for the windows at home :)

The science behind, i really do not have a clue. however it really does work its all i have used for mirror's and windows, when we were told about it when i used to be in the army... definitely worth using.
