Code Reader For 2001 Rx 300

Hi, I have a RX 300 2001 model with around 55k miles. Recently the check engine & VSC light have come one. As I got the car serviced recently, I would rather not send it back to the service center. Can someone suggest an inexpensive code reader that I can buy and fix the problem myself. thanks

Welcome to the club matey :D

You can get a few of the OBD2 readers on eBay, i use an ELM327 on mine with PROSCAN 5.4 software, but there are a few different makes you can get? the elm 327 is a good bit of kit and not too pricey, if you search for OBD on eBay there are a few for sale on there, And think they sell the readers at Argos now too?

That looks like a good unit mate and its a stand alone unit so dont need a laptop like the elm units , and you get quite a bit with it including software looking at the write up?
