what fuel does the LS430 use - does it need super unleaded or just ordinary stuff

Standard 95 RON is fine; at least it is for the identical engine in my GS430 anyway.

It's an old discussion on here - some people claim the high octane fuel makes their car run better, faster, better economy (etc etc), while others claim the performance benefit is mostly thanks to lighter wallets and wishful thinking. Unless, of course, you have a supercharger, or an RS200 import which require 98 RON fuel as standard.

Seems to me that whenever magazines, consumer groups etc run blind tests over thousands of miles, the fuel makes no difference whatsoever!

Cheers I only run V-power in my 200sx, but thats cos its power has been upped to approx 280bhp and its also now mapped for that fuel.

It has probably made absolutly no difference whatsoever but I have ran mine on BP Ultimate 97RON for almost two years now. I have on the odd ocassion had to use 95RON unleaded and noticed no difference between the two. I did read somewhere that the higher the RON rating, the more complete the combustion is and the less build up of toot (can't think of the correst word) in your engine.
