Possible Sticking Fuel Sender Unit Gs300 Mk1

Recommended Posts

Only had my MK1 GS300 Sport for a few weeks, noticed yesterday that my fuel guage is reading half a tank even with the ignition off and keys out this was after putting in my usual £30.00 worth of fuel yesterday. I am pretty sure that the guage used to return to empty when turning off the ignition, although i know some cars give a constant reading when the ignition is off. Are MK 1 GS300's supposed to give a constant reading regardless of the ignition being on or off or have i got a problem such as a dodgy sender unit or fuel guage. Is this a known fault and if it is a fault and it is sticking do you think my fuel light will come on still to let me know i am low on fuel.:question:

Regards

Graham

As patch says, the guage stays where it was when you switched off. I don't think it will adjust to a refill (or a syphon :crying: ) until the ignition has switched back on though.
