Turbo-ing The Lexi

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I've finally scraped together the funds i need to buy myself a nice shiny turbo for my pride and joy. I know i should go for a supercharger but they're like rocking horse s**t to get hold off so unfortunately not very practical.

Anyway this is a question to all those who are running turbo IS's. When i get the kit from no limit motorsport I'm definitely going to look into getting a turbo timer to save the life of it somewhat.

How does the turbo timer sit with the immobiliser? Does the immobiliser have to be deactivated? (I don't really want to do that if i can help it).

Thanks

The IS immobiliser is a CAT1 so a complex bit of electrics, I would send an e-mail direct to the manufacturer of the turbo timer and see what they say. If you let your engine idle after a drive you don't need a turbo timer?

You can fit a turbo timer but the two ignition lives, you need to disconnect one as the car wont lock by remote if you dont.

only problem is it means the car doesnt charge while its doing it.

What do you mean? The car won't charge while the turbo timer is running? That shouldn't be a problem if it's only running for 1-2mins. Should it?
