I recently bought a 02 Mark 1 RX300 SE with 97k on it and have really been enjoying it. I have a couple of questions:

On purchase the Lexus dealer agreeded change the cam belt for new, is there a easy way to check this has been done?

How does the o/d button on the gear stick work and in what circumstance would I use it? Can you aslo explain shift lock and snow settings?

The previous owner had a dog, the car smells of dog. Are there any filters in the air con system I can clean that would be circulating the smell? Can anyone reccommed good products or ways to clean dog hair or remove the odor?

The overdrive-off button, when pressed (such that a reminder light appears on the instrument panel) gives you gentle engine braking - like, say, changing down from 5th gear to 4th on a manual box, for a long descent.

Shift lock releases the selector lever when it's stuck, and in certain other circumstances.

Snow setting enables you to start off smoothly on snow - like starting in 3rd gear on a manual.

Welcome mate,

The aircon filter you'll find right at the back of the glove compartment, after removing carefully two small panels, replacements can be found on fleabay pretty much cheaper at about half price of oem ones,at main dealers.
