Changing Over Number Plates Quickly

Recommended Posts

I dont do many motorway miles to be honest (had a citroen Xsara two years from new and clocked 9k in it lol!) So it may be worth the risk :D

There is that place online where you can order "not so legal" plates and they will do all the spacing for you which is a bonus. If I get stopped I will just act daft (which isnt that hard to do)

For what it's worth, I've had the following plate P. 14VER (name P. Laver) in use since 1997 it's been on 1 Escort, 1 Fiesta, and 2 Foci and not one copper has stopped either me or the missus while out driving. The plate will soon make it's mark on nice shiny new IS200 Sport and I can't wait.

The other alternative is to use a magnetic strip around the edge of the plate.

Keep a spare set in the boot and if stopped say you forget to take it off since

the last LEXUS meet you attended.

Oh and by the way if your stopped twice in one year Police/ D.V.L.A can issue you

with a Q plate,so is it really worth it.You dont want a Q on a lex now do you :P

Happened to a mate when we had bikes

Hi guys,

I do know from past experience that number plate questions come up in the police promotion exams.

If you come across an ardent number plate enforcer its probably some pc who is in the course of studying for the exams.

Try to divert his interest to the crime paper such as definition of a burglar!

That was exactly my thinking - saying I went to a show and forgot to take them off !!

It might wash, you never know.

It's issues like this which cause me to have absolutely NO respect for the police what-so-ever. At all. In the slightest.
