Hi

I have 1 key and 1 key fob, so I need another of each.

---------------------------------------------------------------

1. Does my immobilised transponder exist in the key or the remote control key fob?

2. Can I get a second hand unit ( fob, or key ) and take the electronics out and program them to my car ( once the key has been cut of course)?

My wheels are a bit corroded and messy looking

-------------------------------------------------------

3. The are Lexus 17inch alloys, but the tyres are 235,45,17, which i believe causes the speedo to under read by 5%. It looks as if they should be 235,50,17 to be back in spec. Do you agree?

4. Are these wheels an option, and are they part of a DHP, or is a DHP only for MkIV on?

Thanks chaps.

I've done 1500 miles now at car still running fine with nothing new to report.

If the key has buttons on it, then its in the key.

Most likely, look on E-bay, and search on this forum for Key/transponder etc etc, its been covered before.

Yes, but they have probably been replaced due to the horrendous cost of the correct size tyres (try £170 + each). If you want to know how far off your speedo REALLY is, get a sat nav with a speedo readout or a road angel, you would be suprised.

As far as I know they were only fitted to the DHP Mk4, but they look nice which is probably why they were swapped.

3) The Lexus LS400 Series IV DHP was the only LS400 to be supplied with the 17" alloys. They came with Pirelli P Zero 245/50/17 tyres (which are very expensive!!)

4) The 17" alloys were only an option on the LS400 Series IV. They are part of the DHP (Dynamic Handling Pack) and includes these alloys and slightly lower suspension. Your alloys have clearly been taken from one of these.

The remote has a different coded internal. I have 2 internals with dif. no.s on they are not interchangeable. I see no obvious way of doing it unless it had a programmable chip. The spare has the code. in a circle with a horizontal line between.
