Well Anees had the same problem with his BMW wheels, im 99% sure his could be fixed mate, but it was not cheap :duh:

Any idea where he got them done mate.

My wheels are like new, apart from that one, so would like it fixed.

And Mrs Mole will be paying.

Only good thing is that I have a set of 5

Sorry to hear about that :crybaby:. But I think you can repair almost any alloy wheel damage, e.g. have a look here and scroll down and see the video examples, also pics of a horrifically damaged wheel here which these people appear to have fixed

I can't vouch for their service, just something I found on the net.

As Gord said, I think it mainly just comes down to ££££ and who can do a decent job.

Sorry to see that Mr M, :crybaby:

Looking at the damage though and where a lot of it is on the lip edge, i'd probably be able to diamond file quite a bit of it out? cant really see how deep the scratches are form here though? the piece where the chunks missing would probably need a bit of weld then filing down but would result in a respray and may have a slightly lower section to the rim? But it does look like it could be sorted from here :)

By the way mate your lex is looking great and bringing back some memories :D

I went to the wheel specialist in Manchester and the person said they could be fixed but in my case the cost was over £400+ for a set of wheels so decided I was better off just getting some new wheels. I sold the old ones and put the money towards a new set. But if you only have one wheel to do then your probably looking at £100 - The wheel Specialist in Scotland seems to have a good reputation on this forum. The helpful person from The Wheel Specialist in Manchester did menton however that their lacquer will make the wheels looks very slightly darker but you would really have to concentrate to notice it if you only had one wheel done.

As a cheaper option what you could do, is find an engineering place that does polishing. If you give them the alloy they should be able to grind and polish the lip back. I have a place in Oldham (Hollinwood Engineering) that can do this but since I was also abit bored of the wheels I just decided to go for new. The other issue is if you only have one alloy done then the lip is going to look different from the others which makes it look odd.

Hope that helps,

Anees

Just do it yourself. Rub it back, file down the high spots, bit of chemical metal in the low spots, contact the wheel manufacturer and get a paint code and touch it up. After its touched up flat it back with some 3000 grit detailing paper then repolish the whole wheel. Easy peasy, cost no more than a tenner. I cant see the point in paying hundreds to make it perfect again, its only going to get kerbed again.
